We are American expats living in Shanghai, China. We have 2 adopted
children: a 10 yr old daughter and an 8 yr old son. Our son has had
trouble attending the international school and is no longer going to be
accepted there. While he is a bright and affectionate child, he has
ADHD and has recently been diagnosed with early-onset bipolar disorder.
With the recent change in his medications, we expect him to make
significant improvements with his fluctuating moods. However, we will
need to home-school him in China for this school year. We are
interested in hiring a teacher with the following criteria:
* willing to re-locate to Shanghai
* able to make a committment to this position for the entire 2004-5
school year
* knowledgeable about the American educational system (3rd grade
level)
* patient and able to motivate in a positive manner
* experienced with behavior modification techniques
* preference for a young male teacher who can also provide athletic
activities
(swimming, baseball, soccer, gymnastics, martial arts, etc.)
Travel expenses to and from Shanghai and salary will be provided by my
husband's employer. For the right candidate, this will be a wonderful
international opportunity!
