About Xianning College |
Xianning College grew out of Xianning Teachers’ College and Xianning Medical College which is approved by the State Education Committee in 2002. It is a provincial College in Xianning, Hubei. The college has a long history for running school, and a long-standing culture. The Xianning Teachers College was combined by Puqi Teachers School and Xianning High School with an established history more than 60years. Xianning Medical College was established on Hubei Medical College Xianning Branch with an established history of 40years The campus covers an area of 170hectares (1800mu) with a building space of 325,000 square meters. The value of the teaching facility and equipment is 51,000,000yuan. It is fortunate that we have an Internet Center, 12 laboratory rooms, 4 language labs, 8 computer rooms, 9 multi-function rooms and the campus’ network which was invested 2 million yuan has been using for starting. The college has 12456 full-time students, and 1095 staff members among whom are 669 teaching faculty, including 269professors and associate professors, 189 Doctors and Masters. There are 6 person who enjoy a special allowance, which is awarded by the State Council, and there are 5 people who are provincial administrative experts. 3 people are provincial middle-age experts, who provide a special contribution. The college is fortunate to have 8 specialists winning awards, which have been given for excellent knowledge in their fields; they have helped provide a strong backbone for their institution’s academic strength. And 48 guest professors are invited by the college from Wuhan University, Central China Normal University, Hubei University throughout the year. We have 6 foreign teachers at moment in English department. The college includes 8 institutes as The Humanities, Information Engineering, Administration, Art, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Foreign Language, Liberal Arts and Science, and 6 departments directly under the college, they are Biomedical Engineering, Pedagogy, Mathematics, Physical Education, Program of City &Countryside and Science of Natural Resources, Chemical and Life Science, etc. The college has established 7 subjects: Medical Science, Literature, Science and Engineering, History, Pedagogy, Administration, and , etc. There are 19 four-year courses and 25 three-year courses as Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology, Biomedicine, Stomatology , Chinese Language and Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Computer, Arts,etc. The college is located conveniently close to the Beijing-Guangzhou railway, and the Beijing-Zhuhai expressway. There is beautiful scenery surrounding the college. The campus itself is filled with many trees, flowers and fountains providing a serene environment for students and teachers. We invite foreign teacher for teaching here since 1989, up to now we have had 20 foreign teachers who come from different countries by different time and we always have good cooperation between two sides.
