Do you like toys, travel and design? If so, we have the job for you! We are a Shanghai based, international toy manufacturer – if it’s fun and inflatable we make it. Designing and marketing products around the world, for some of the world’s most recognizable brands, such as Disney and Warner Bros., you will be responsible for developing innovative and market leading graphics, illustrations and cartoon characters for thematic children’s products.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of The Design Department leadership, you will:
-Interpret field research to gain an understanding of target user/consumer lifestyle and address consumer needs and preferences; leverage existing solutions and available technologies in product development.
-Work on multiple design briefs to create inventive, demographically targeted graphics, illustrations and package designs from initial through to final design concepts.
-Consider project objectives and technical production requirements in order to meet strict timelines.
-Work with engineering on sampling and product development to ensure your creative vision is realized.
-Collaborate with Shanghai, European and US based marketing and sales teams
Experience, Knowledge, Skills Required:
-Bachelors Degree in Design.
-Written and spoken English and Mandarin are required.
-Experience with consumer packaged goods, illustration and industrial design.
-Experience in design for toy and sporting goods.
-Strong research capabilities, with the ability to unify a variety interrelated ideas.
-Problem solver
-Strong story telling and character development skills.
-Good knowledge of content development process.
-Professional proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator is a must.
-Strong sketching skills.
-Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods is a plus.
Note: This position is based in Shanghai and requires periodic travel to the US.
