Microsoft Customer Services & Support (CSS) is scouting for technical editors who want to be a part of the Microsoft team. As an editor, you will publish articles for a daily international readership of 4 million on behalf of a multinational corporation and maintain quality online content for the Microsoft Knowledge Base. You will produce high-quality technical content on deadline by working with an international team of technical writers and technical reviewers.
Your position is on the Microsoft Product Quality and Online (PQO) China Content Service Team. You will be expected to edit content that follows standard conventions of US Standard English grammar, usage, and punctuation. Prior experience with various writing styles and style guides will benefit your work. Prior experience with Microsoft products – such as Windows Vista, Microsoft Office, and Windows Server 2008 – will give you a better understanding of the articles that you edit and publish.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:
? Editing experience coupled with one of the following:
? a bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS or CSE)
? a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, or English
? Native-level competence of US Standard English writing conventions
? An understanding of technical syntax and terminology
? A working knowledge of personal computer architecture and network architecture
