Our client is a world leader in automotive-component manufacturing, and part of a group whose 2009 turnover was in the region of US$2.2 billion, and employs over 37k people worldwide. The ideal applicant will come from a similar industry, and be able to demonstrate strong leadership abilities as well as good and relevant experience in the automotive-components industry. Overseas applicants with the relevant experience in China will be acceptable for this position.
Reporting to the COO of Asia as well as the Board of Directors, your responsibilities will include the following:
l Control operations and management to achieve Corporate Financial and Marketing goals.
l Lead the implementation of the health, safety and environment programs
l Establish and maintain a Management Team with the skill and motivation required to achieve the Company’s Mission and Vision with behaviours in line with our Values.
l Ensure that the Company complies with all statutory and legal requirements under State, Federal and applicable International Laws
l Ensure that the Company’s activities comply with the policies and procedures.
l Direct and participate in the preparation of the Company’s Annual Five Year Plan, Budgets and Improvement Plans
l Report to the Regional Operating Officer – Asia Pacific and the Board on the affairs of the Company, and any major internal or external activities likely to have a major or significant impact on the business
l Monitor the performance of the business and take such action as is required to ensure previously agreed operating plans are achieved
l Establish and maintain satisfactory customer and public relations through direct or delegated contacts
l Lead the Company’s continuous improvement activities and recognise and reward achievement in this area at all levels in the organisation
l Ensure the Company’s assets for which he has the responsibility are maintained to provide return on investment and are utilised in such a manner as to prolong their useful working life
l Control staff selection, training, development and utilization
l Manage the performance, and the efficiency of staff and procedures
l Monitor expenditure and prepare forward planning of business requirements for future projects, in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time available, and labour requirements
l Other duties as assigned
To be successful in this exciting position you must have the following experience and skills:
l At least 10 years experience at a Senior Management level within a medium to large manufacturing company
l Experience in Automotive Plastic Component moulding and assembly
l Suitable qualifications in either business, Engineering or other related discipline
l Experience of Body Colour Painting an advantage
l Fluent in English and conversant in Mandarin
