The mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor is located in Huangling County of Shaanxi Province. It is said that the Yellow Emperor was born in Xinzheng of Henan Province, died in Jinshan of Henan, and was buried in Qiaoshan of Shaanxi Province. Qiaoshan is situated one kilometer away to the north of Huangling County. The tomb is on the summit of the Qiaoshan Mountain. Legend has it that when the Yellow Emperor was dying, he had a Ding vessel made and intended to ride a dragon to the heaven. The dragon was injured by the arrows shot from his subjects who tried to stop him from doing so. As the dragon flew over the Qiao State, it descended to have a rest. One of the Yellow Emperor's boots was pulled off by a local. So the Yellow Emperor was buried here.
