With the deeper cooperation between China and ASEAN, more and more ASEAN students come to China for high education. This Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holiday give them a different “golden week”.
“Although the Mid-Autumn Festival not belongs to Thailand tradition, my family still reunion together to have dinner and eat moon cakes on that day.” Li Bihua, an ethnic Chinese from Thailand who is familiar with this global Chinese festival said.“But in China, this festival is more abustle and astir. Besides, the following National Day Holiday make the celebrate activities more rich and grand.”
After the establishment of China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership, the cultural and educational exchanges increase ceaselessly.“In 2011, I apply Chinese government scholarship and come to Guilin for study.” In Thailand, Chinese is very popular, Li tells us,“Almost the same as English.”
After coming to Guilin, Li is surprised to find that she is not alone for there are many students coming from ASEAN countries in this western city where she makes a lot of friends.
Another ASEAN student studying in China Liang Fang can not enjoy the long holiday because of her busy Vietnamese restaurant. This Vietnamese girl opened a small restaurant in which the material import from Vietnam because the establishment of China-AFTA.
Liang Fang, whose father possess five mahogany furniture company, want to earn money by herself while study.
Coming to China for high education is her own choice.“With the China ASEAN in-depth cooperation, the two countries and trade exchanges have become increasingly frequently. I think the future of our family enterprises is in China, so I choose to come to China to study.”
