Changjiao is a time-honored village with enchanting Minnan landscape. This beautiful ancient village is named after the Changjiao Brook that connects Heguilou and Huaiyuanlou.Along the banks of the brook are ancient banyan trees, ancient building and patches of farm land. A walk through the village will bring you back in time to Chinese traditional rural life.

In the end of 2005, the flim The Knot(Yun Shui Yao) was shot here. In the film, the poetic rural scenery add to the romance and purity of the love, which presents a beautiful and untouched village. Since then, the fame of the film has brought much popularity to the small village. This village has been a popular place for film making and sightseeing.

After the successful application of Fujian Tulou for World Heritage Site, Changjiao, the small village was renamed "Yun Shui Yao Ancient Town" for the development of tourism.

Inside the village, century-old banyans stands are everywhere;stand along the old road, lie in front the wooden houses, or grow beside the river bank,making the old village a cool fairyland.Along the crook bank, there are 13  century-old banyans, among them the most huge one has a crown covering  1933 square meters,only 10 people hugging together can encompass it. This huge banyan is the biggest banyan in Fujian province. Under the big banyan is a cobblestone-paved old road, stretching to the faraway. The actor and actress once walked across the road hand by hand, and this scene has became a classic shot.

The most attractive scenery in the village are the scattered Tulou, the history of which can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty.There are 53 Tulou in well- preserve in the village, among them the most famous ones are Gui Lou and Huaiyuan Lou.

Besides the beautiful scenery, Changjiao is also a famous overseas Chinese hometown. Since the Ming Dynasty, a lot of locals here moved to Burma,Singapore,Indonesia, Thailand and Hongkong for earning living. Nowadays there are amounts to 230 thousand Taiwan residents whose hometown is Changjiao. This movie Yun Shui Yao also based on a real life experience of Taiwan resident seeking for his fomer lover in the mainland. Every year there are more than 150 Taiwan residents return to Changjiao to seek for their root.

The elegant scenery plus the unique cultural resources has attracted a lot of directors to shot their film here. Since 1997, there are eight films,TV series and MTVs shot here.
