Zhejiang Province ,which is reputed as "the Land of Silk" and produces one third of China's raw silk,is situated on China's southeastern coast, on the southern part of the Tai lake. Its northeast is adjacent to Shanghai. Zhejiang has the largest number of islands in China,about 3,061 of all.

Ethnic Minority Group
Zhejiang is home to many minority ethnic groups including Han, Hui, Manchu and Miao. Of course,like most of the provinces,Han is the majority.
Climate
Zhejiang has a sub-tropical monsoonal climate, warm, humid and rainy. It has a mean annual temperature of 16-19oC, "Plum rains" occur between May and June and typhoons between summer and autumn.And at that time, it is humid and makes you feel uncomfortable.

Capital of Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou is one of the seven ancient capitals in China with a history of 2200 years.There is a Chinese proverb -- "in heaven there is paradise and on earth there are Hangzhou and Suzhou" -- combined with the words of Marco Polo,describes the charm of Hangzhou.
Famed for its natural scenery, Hangzhou and its West Lake have been immortalized by countless poets and artists,it is one of the most beautiful sights--as beatiful as a painting. In west of the West Lake is Lingyin Temple,it is an active Buddhist temple at the bottom of a hill. Dragon Well Tea Fields is very popular during the last 2 weeks of April, when everyone is out in the field picking tea and the tea that you can purchase is of the best quality.

Shaoxing,a watertown in east Zhejiang,is a 4,000 years ancient town.Shaoxing is world famous for the gorgeous scenes along its waters,and the hometown of Luxun,a famous Chinese novelist and social reformist. Here you can visit Dayu's Mausoleum,The East Lake etc.
