Seven Wrinkle Reduction Recipes

Wrinkles are a woman's worst enemy. But eating the right foods can postpone them.

High protein: Skin laps up and thrives on the proteins found in lean meat, milk and eggs, and in vegetable products such as bean curd.

Pigs feet: A preparation made from pigs feet is highly recommended for smoothing away the lines. Made from four or so trotters (preferably sows'), stewed and reduced to a paste, its nightly application over two weeks makes a visible difference..

Chicken bones: chicken skin and cartilage are rich in the chondroitin sulfate that nourishes and protects the skin. Regular servings of soup made from chicken bones and skin are another way of keeping the skin smooth and taut.

Fruits and vegetables: A mixture of mashed bananas and a spoon of olive oil smoothed on and rinsed off is a proven face saver. Rubbing in watermelon rind and rinsing off in cold water is another cleansing method, as is a mixture of towel gourd, astringent and honey allowed to dry. Eating plenty of cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, oranges and chestnuts helps retain the youthful bloom.

Rice balls: cleanse clogged pores by massaging the face with kneaded balls of warm, cooked rice. They visibly absorb dirt and grease, allowing the skin to breathe in oxygen and retain elasticity.

Tea: As tea is rich in tea polyphenols, theanine, caffeine and anti-oxidants, it is a healthy, beautifying drink. This thirst-quenching beverage helps keep the skin smooth and firm, and prevents skin disease.

Chewing gum: Munch on a stick of gum for 15 to 20 minutes each day for a couple of weeks and watch the wrinkles subside. Chewing gum exercises the face muscles and stimulates facial blood circulation, thus enhancing the facial cell metabolic function.
