Key responsibilities
1. Client Development l Generate revenue through the acquisition of new clients and cross-selling to existing global clients - Create new opportunities through prospecting within market - Leverage existing Asia/US/European relationships to create new business opportunities - Recognize potentially differing/competing organizational needs (internal/external to market) - Strengthen partnerships with other regions for increased referrals - Actively seek new client engagements with recurring/renewable revenue and value-added services - Develop/maintain relationships with client buyers - Support activities to assess and ensure client satisfaction with existing clients l Be conversant in all Mercer products and services to respond to the business issues of our prospects - Attend client meetings with Line of Business (LOB) consultants - Assist with and review client proposals, presentations, reports, and correspondence (expand knowledge and serve as peer review) l Coordinate relationships with clients (within market, across the region, and globally). - This includes close collaboration with LOBs - Support client management initiatives across market and specified Regional and Global Accounts l Participate and facilitate client meetings and communicate client activities and issues with LOB teams l Monitor some billing, budgeting, profitability and timelines for client projects 2. Operational Support l Assist the Market Leadership Team with the development and deployment of client management strategies at the market level, and actively participate in market-related business development meetings addressing issues including pipeline management, account planning and sales effectiveness l Work with marketing team to facilitate and coordinate activities (e.g., seminars) that support marketing efforts l Assist with creation and communication of Intellectual Capital related to cross-border opportunities l Participate in internal marketing initiatives 3. External Business Development Initiatives l Represent Mercer through speaking and participating in international business forums and local organizations l Network within the business community and industry through active participation in industry and association events and seminars l Analyze various marketing trends, which may include market conditions, sales trends, market size, marketing practices, customer preferences and client management operations l Understand business trends and work with LOBs to create/promote Roundtables and marketing collateral that enhance Mercer's market position Requirements l BA/BS degree required; Master's degree preferred. l 8 plus years' experience in a consulting environment identifying, designing, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' complex human resource challenges. l A sound knowledge and grasp of the people and financial management consulting arena, with a deep understanding of retirement, investments, compensation, human capital management, communication, health and benefits and HR technology. l Strong, demonstrated sales and marketing skills plus the ability to market organizational strengths to senior level executives successfully. l Proven ability and track record of building relationships at senior executive levels and generating revenue by acquiring new clients. l Excellent communication, organizational and project management skills. |
