Sichuan University of Science and Engineering (SUSE) is located in Zigong, Sichuan.

The city is known as the “Salt Capital”, the “Hometown of the Dinosaur”, and the “Lantern City”. SUSE was originally named East China University of Chemical Technology (Southwest Branch), founded in 1965, now a key provincial comprehensive university.The university campus covers an area of about 1600000 square meters, with a building floor space of about 650000square meters. After forty-two years of growth and development, the university is now an engineering-oriented, multi-disciplinary and multi-level university running a graduate department and offering a wide range of undergraduate programs in science, engineering, management, economics, law, liberal arts, history and education.

SUSE has 3 campuses at different sites throughout the city. There are 17 teaching departments, 1 basic education department and 1 college for adult continuing-education. In addition, there are 55 bachelor’s degree programs and 5 master’s degree programs, 5 Key provincial laboratories and “ChinaSalt Culture”Research Center.Currently, SUSE has a total staff of about 1900, 1300 of whom are full-time teachers. More than 400 professors and associate professors are employed by the university. SUSE now has a total enrollment of about 23500full-time students.

SUSE also attaches importance to international academic exchange and cooperation. It has established collaborative relations with several universities in the United States, Germany, Japan, Russia and South Korea. It also maintains good relations with well-known colleges, universities, research institutes and academies at home.
