| Brief Introduction on recruiting foreign English language teachers at Sichuan Agricultural University Warm greetings from Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU)! SAU, one of the Chinese ¡°211¡± Construction Project universities (100 key universities for which the Chinese government will support the most on educational funding in the 21st century), is located in Ya'an city, about 120 km. away from Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province. The two cities are connected by a new national highway. It takes only about 80 minutes to drive from Yaan to Chengdu. Yaan, the hometown of Giant Panda of the world, is well known for its pretty scenery of nature. SAU is highly appreciated by foreign teachers on its peaceful and beautiful campus and the friendship and cooperation shown from the staff of International Office Exchange and Cooperation and the university. SAU usually employs about six native English speakers to teach English language for doctoral and graduate students and undergraduates. Candidates with Bachelors degree in fields like English, History, Agriculture and with teaching experience in English language and literature would be competitive. Candidates should be in good health and flexible. Each employee teaches about 14-16 hours per week. SAU offers each recruited teacher free well-furnished and air-conditioned housing with a bedroom, a sitting room, a bathroom and a kitchen (not sharing with other teachers). The monthly basic salary is in the range of 4,500---5,500 Yuan RMB, depending on the employee's academic degree (ranges from bachelor¡¯s degree to doctor¡¯s degree). 70 percent of the basic payment can be exchanged into US dollars. Each year SAU grants each foreign teacher 2,200 Yuan RMB as traveling allowance. For one year¡¯s contract, SAU will pay the employed party 10,000YuanRMB for one round trip international air-ticket. |
