It has a teaching and administrative staff of 1700, including 452 professors. There is an enrollment of 22000 full-time students. There are 26 departments, providing education in 61 specialities. HISTORY OF ORGANISATION: University was established in 1950, directly under the jurisdiction of State Ethnic Affairs Commission. Northwest University for Nationalities is the first institution of the higher learning for ethnic minorities of China. FACILITIES PROVIDED TO THE TEACHING STAFF: The teaching staff is provided with a comfortable two-bedroom apartment on campus, fully furnished with all the amenities in kitchen, washing facilities and TV. It’s maintained regularly and promptly. The teachers are also provided with computer, printer and free internet access. START DATE: Start: August 2012 DURATION: 12 months SELECTION CRITERIA - SELECTION CRITERIA CONDITION: Only candidates with Ballet as their Major study from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine need to apply for this position. QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced Degree or equivalent in Dance / Ballet or Education Record of continuous professional development ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Teaching experience in Dance / Ballet, curriculum development and learning materials development Able to anticipate the challenges you would face living and working in China. REMUNERATION, WORKPLACE DETAILS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT REMUNERATIONS At NWUN, salary is provided according to the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A selected candidate with a Bachelor degree is paid Y 4000 per month, with a Master’s degree is paid Y 4500 per month and with a Doctorate is paid Y 5000 per month. Salary negotiable with the right candidate. TRAVEL ALLOWANCE One return-air ticket from the country of the candidate to Lanzhou, China, will be provided to the selected candidate. WORKPLACE DESCRIPTION: University has two campuses, main at Lanzhou and the other campus is one hour ride east of Lanzhou in Yuzhong. A bus operates several times a day within the two campuses and a free transport is provided to the foreign teachers. The applicant will have to carry out work at both the campuses. TELECOMMUNICATIONS S/he will be given a work station with a desktop computer, and access to standard office equipment (printer, copier, scanner, fax, internet etc). HOURS/DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT: Working Hours are 16 per week. If extra work is carried out a payment of Y 120 per hour is made to the teachers. NWUN Working Hours: From 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM, Monday to Friday. LEAVE: Same conditions and terms as local colleagues apply, including national holidays.
